How you feel
How you feel
My sadness is bottomless. Often, if not daily, I feel upset. I am never happy, I am constantly low, and I cry a lot. Sometimes I just don’t feel anything at all—I’m numb. I have a complete loss of interest and motivation for life. I wear one face, a stone face, one of total nothingness. But I also experience intense mood swings and have sudden bursts of anger that I cannot control. I have such severe anxiety that it can lead to panic attacks. The doctors are treating me for clinical depression and they gave me some pills and sent me to see a psychologist for therapy. It worked for a while, and then everything stopped working. I just want the pain it to end.

What to do when depression medication doesn't work
What to do when depression medication doesn't work
Studies show that unless a person is severely depressed, antidepressants are minimally beneficial, if that. The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) states: "The magnitude of benefit of antidepressant medication compared with placebo increases with severity of depression symptoms and may be MINIMAL OR NONEXISTENT, on average, in patients with mild or moderate symptoms. For patients with very severe depression, the benefit of medications over placebo is substantial” [2]. To put it plainly, the depression medication you take on a daily basis might be completely useless.
